Yakshagana Cultural Programme is a traditional performing arts event that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of coastal Karnataka and Uttara Kannada. The programme features vibrant costumes, elaborate makeup, traditional music, expressive dance, powerful dialogues, and dramatic storytelling based mainly on stories from Indian epics such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. Skilled Yakshagana artists bring mythological characters and stories to life through energetic performances accompanied by traditional instruments. The event provides an opportunity for visitors and local communities to experience Karnataka’s folk traditions, encourages younger generations to learn about regional performing arts, and supports the preservation of the traditional Yakshagana art form.
